How to replace crankshaft position sensor on BMW E46 323i (M52TUB25)
Symptoms of a failing sensor:
Symptoms of a failing sensor:
- Engine misfires
- Difficulty starting
- Check Engine Light on (code P0335)
- 10mm socket
- Flathead screwdriver
- Torque wrench
- Locate the sensor on the engine block behind the starter motor
- Disconnect the electrical connector
- Remove the 10mm bolt securing the sensor
- Carefully pull out the old sensor
- Clean the sensor hole and ensure no debris is present
- Insert the new sensor (BMW part number: 12141438082)
- Secure with the 10mm bolt, torque to 6 Nm
- Reconnect the electrical connector
- Clear fault codes with an OBD-II scanner
