Symptoms of fuel pump failure:
- Engine sputtering or stalling
- Difficulty starting
- Loss of power under acceleration
- Whining noise from the rear of the car
- Check fuel pressure using a gauge
- Listen for pump operation when turning key to "on" position
- Check fuel pump relay and fuse
- Perform voltage drop test at the fuel pump
- Relieve fuel system pressure
- Remove rear seat to access fuel pump
- Disconnect electrical connections and fuel lines
- Remove and replace fuel pump (part number: 16146766942)
- Reassemble and test
